The Niners have 3 quarterbacks on the roster: Jimmy Garoppolo, Nick Mullens and Beathard. Jimmy G. isn’t going anywhere and while there were rumors around Mullens, Beathard makes more sense for the 49ers to trade. He’s the 3rd stringer and if the 49ers can get something for him, that’s a huge win.
However, could the 49ers have leaked this trade rumor in order to try and get a taker for Beathard? Surely there isn’t a huge market, unless the Chicago Bears are really in that dire need of a QB.
