8 Days in the Canadian Rockies - A GDT Section Hike (Sort Of) - Part 1

In August 2018 Adventure.Happy had a plan for an epic 8 day backpacking trip in the Canadian Rockies, Section C of the Great Divide Trail from Field, BC to Kananaskis Lakes, Alberta. Sadly a forest fire in Kootenay National Park changed the plans a little bit and instead we had to spend a few extra days in Banff exploring the area around Egypt Lake. Not a bad problem to have. In the end, we spent 8 days on the trail and saw more than 170 km of the most amazing mountains, passes and lakes that Banff National Park, and Assiniboine, Height of the Rockies and Peter Lougheed Provincial Parks have to offer.
