First, the test team discovered that a non-critical pressure transducer was electrically coupled with another line, resulting in inaccurate pressure measurements. After realizing this, the decision was made to safe the system and abort the test.
Later, a post-test inspection revealed that a mis-calibrated regulator had led to higher-than-expected pressure in a purge line. As designed, the system instantly and automatically reacted to this unexpected increase in pressure by relieving it. This reaction can be seen on-camera on Monday's livestream, and prevented the system from any damage.
We're very proud of the work that the test crew put into this test, which ultimately served to showcase our rigorous and redundant safety systems. Both problems identified can be quickly fixed, so we are planning to attempt another hotfire on Saturday 01/25, with a fallback day of Sunday.
Stay tuned for another livestream of that attempt!
