Caring For Your Newborn

Caring For Your Newborn After many years of working with mothers, fathers, and babies the following tips have been found to be the most helpful, so we would like to share them with you today. Number 1, sleep when your baby sleeps. Don’t worry about the washing, the housework, or the cleaning, just go to bed. It’s important to sleep when your baby sleeps. Most newborns sleep between 14 and 16 hours per day. Number 2. Stay in your pyjamas all day if you need to. Many cultures encourage mothers to stay home for those first four weeks, the first 30 days at least, so don’t feel as though you need to rush out and be the perfect Instagram mum. Number 3. Listen to yourself. Everyone will give you advice, even if it’s all well meant. Try to get to know your baby and trust your own instincts and trust yourself to do the best job. Number 4. Spend some one on one time with your baby. Just giving your baby a massage or simply having a cuddle will help you learn your baby’s body language very quickly and your baby will enjoy the time with you. Number 5. Know that this will get better. Those first 3 months are tough and it is difficult to go without sleep. You and your baby are adapting to a completely new world and new environment. So both of you need to get to know each other. You are doing the very best you can, so just keep going and if you can’t manage ask for help if you need it.
