Teen Gets to Write Novel With Her Favorite Author

Taryn Everdeen was 15 years old when she wrote to her favorite young adult author, 84-year-old Carolyn Meyer, the writer behind the young adult series Young Royals. Inspired by her creativity, Carolyn wrote back and suggested a partnership. They eventually began writing back and forth and even visited each other in their hometowns. Three years later, their book is completed and ready to be sent to publishers. “It’s incredibly surreal,” said Taryn, who is now 18.
