Do you have what it takes to succeed at watercolor painting?

Do you have what it takes to succeed at watercolor painting? What does it mean to be an artist?
Do you have what it takes to call yourself an artist?
Can anyone become an artist?

These are just a few questions that were burning in my brain when I started learning to paint, and over the years, I've found answers that have helped me stay encouraged when none of my paintings are turning out.

There is a learning curve that causes many artists to give up far too early in their watercolor journey. It's easy to have high expectations as you work to master watercolor techniques, and "failed" paintings seem to indicate that maybe watercolor just isn't for you.

WATERCOLOR IS A SKILL.

Anyone with enough desire can master the SKILLS and TECHNIQUES of watercolor. When those techniques have been worked over many hours, you will grow more confident in your expression, and you WILL start seeing results that please you and show your inner artist.
Be patient!
Be stubborn!
Trust the process!
