Myself ( Digger Charlie ) and Faceless George go back to the early settlers site I recently found. The man who lived here settled sometime in the 1750s and from the looks of it built a very small home. The land that this colonial house once sat on was not turned into farm nor was there any improvement done upon the land. It is just lots of lumpy, rocky ground out in the woods with a very small cellar hole and the remains of a stone chimney stack.
So with our Garrett ATGOLD & ATPRO FG and I head back out for a recap dig.
We hit the ground hard with our metal detectors and have a tough time finding much, its just a really quiet site but we do manage to find a few more buttons to donate to the town museum. The victory is still finding this lost to history home site here in our town. We love New Hampshire history and to be able to contribute to it makes tough days like this completely worth it.
