When you first start lifting a little heavier, you can get to a point where you're ability to grip the bar gets difficult and can sometimes hold you back from a lift. In this video I go through the basic lifting assistance for wrists wraps, gloves and the different types of straps you can use. The pros and cons to each and the reasons WHY you might choose one over the other.
Lifting assistance is not ESSENTIAL to lifting heavy, however I have found it particularly helpful as a female not wanting to develop gigantic grip strength.
