'You'll be labelled as a far-right lunatic' if you disagree with drastic climate action

'You'll be labelled as a far-right lunatic' if you disagree with drastic climate action News.com.au’s Alexis Carey says Australia needs to stop framing climate change “as a left-right divide”.

In an Interview with The Australian, South Australian Liberal Premier Steven Marshall called for “the end of the left-right split” which depicts the right as “pro-coal” and the left “pro-renewables”.

Fellow panelist and Sky News Darwin Bureau Chief Matt Cunningham though said whenever someone points out the realities of emissions reductions they are “labelled as some far-right lunatic who doesn’t like renewable energy”.

“It’s not as simple as just saying we need more renewable energy,” Mr Cunningham told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.
