Rolex watches from the modern and vintage eras lead the line this morning. A 2019 Rolex GMT-Master II “Pepsi” GMT or “BLRO” features the new-for-2019 blue dial-caliber 3285 combination along with a robust Rolex Oyster bracelet and clasp. The legendary vintage Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date showcases its mighty Rolex caliber 5055 quartz chronometer movement along with white gold case and bracelet in outstanding condition. Omega brings few but outstanding watches in the form of a solitary Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Annual Calendar. This 38.5mm stainless steel annual calendar need be adjusted only once per year during the jump from February to March. With 150-meter water resistance, an antimagnetic silicon hairspring, a co-axial escapement and COSC Swiss chronometer certification, this Omega Aqua Terra is an outstanding candidate to be a man – or woman’s – only watch.
TAG Heuer is a name rarely mentioned on this show, but today’s opus deserves plaudits; the 2019 TAG Heuer Carrera Tourbillon Nanograph was a GPHG nominee thanks to its first-in-the-industry carbon fiber hairspring. This carbon composite hairspring is antimagnetic, thermally inert, shock-resistant, and built by TAG Heuer itself. The Carrera Tourbillon Nanograph also includes a flying tourbillon, a 65-hour power reserve, a chronograph with column wheel and vertical clutch, a COSC Swiss chronometer certification, and 100-meter water resistance within its 45mm titanium and carbon fiber case.
A Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph is a class-leading sports watch, but the 2018 model with black dial (“inverse panda”) took watch collectors by storm with its perfect storm of tone and contrast. A 42.5mm stainless steel case gives Vacheron’s signature sports chronograph impressive wrist stance while a manufacture caliber 5200 automatic chronograph movement combines Geneva Hallmark finish with a 52-hour power reserve, vertical clutch, column wheel, and five-position adjustment. The Vacheron Overseas Chronograph boasts 150-meter water resistance, 25,000 ampere-per-meter antimagnetism, and quick-release lugs that allow rapid swapping of the standard steel bracelet and two accessory straps.
