Gandhi's favourite hymn, Abide With Me, may be dropped from Beating the Retreat #TILwithThePrint

This year’s Beating the Retreat ceremony in New Delhi may close with Vande Mataram and not Christian hymn Abide With Me, say government sources. The Biblical hymn, which has been part of the military tradition since 1950, might be excluded from the ceremony in a bid to “Indianise” the prestigious military tradition.
