DAY 7: Peered Into The 'Blue' Ice | NIGARDSBREEN GLACIER | NORWAY ROAD TRIP 2019

DAY 7: Peered Into The 'Blue' Ice | NIGARDSBREEN GLACIER | NORWAY ROAD TRIP 2019 Situated within the Luster municipality, Nigardsbreen is one of the most accessible branches of the Jostedalsbreen glacier in Southern Norway, where you can actually come into view with blue ice at a very close range.

The tour starts at 11am and hence we had to set off from Bergen as early as 5.30 am.

We booked a guided tour for this glacier hike and it's probably one of the best experiences we ever had in our lives.

The entire hike took us about 6 hours, but we didn't feel that we had enough. Thus, we hiked back to the foot of the glacier again (about 45 minutes through and fro) to have one last look at it.

According to the guide, the glacier moves and there can be avalanches. So we are actually putting our lives at risk by going back there alone.

But I didn't have a choice. There was one important, life-changing thing that I had to do, and there couldn't be a better place than right in front of the majestic Nigardsbreen glacier.
