After rep 5 I said to myself “we'll do 6, no more today.”
I felt so tired. And the pain was starting to eat away at my resolution. Trying to convince me to take it easy. Telling me I need a day off, telling me I didn't get enough sleep, telling me "tomorrow is another day".
After arriving at 6 I said, “OK, 8 reps, no more.”
After 8 reps I said, “10 reps is all I got in me today.”
My muscles were screaming in agony. At this point, I was beginning to see stars from the exhaustion. But we KEEP GOING and a couple seconds later, I arrive at my destination: 12 clean pistol squats (and a new personal best - watch till the end to see what total bliss feels like). But that's not the point. Not at all.
I wanted to quit 4 TIMES IN ONE FUKIN SET !! And THAT'S the key right there homeboys and homegirls. That is the secret sauce. THE ESSENCE.
You know exactly what you gotta do ... In your training, in your diet, in your relationships, at your work ... But you want the easy way out. The shortcut. The magic pill.
You want the easy way, and your mirror doesn't lie about it.
Listen here, there is no easy way out. There are no shortcuts and no magic pills. You gotta work for it like your life depends on it. “Bb-but it's sooo hard, Victor !?” It is. You just have to make yourself harder.
If not for yourself, do it for THEM.
