Akshay Singh, one of the four convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya rape-murder case, has moved a review petition in the Supreme Court against his death penalty. He has filed a bizarre review plea, citing reasons like decreasing air and water quality of Delhi for not giving him the death sentence. The Supreme Court will hear the review plea on 13th December. President Ramnath Kovind will also decide on the mercy petition filed by convict Vinay Sharma. Meanwhile, Nirbhaya's mother who is seeking justice for 7 years, wrote a letter to the President, seeking rejection of the petition filed by convict.
