The name of the film is ‘Nodorai’, which in local Chattogram dialect means ‘I am not afraid’. The English title of the film is ‘Dare To Surf’.
The first look poster features the main character of the film draped in a wedding sari carrying a surfboard with a sea beach in the background. The film is based on a true story of a Bangladeshi surfer named Nasima. The film revolves around the challenges she faced as a female surfer in Bangladesh and how she overcame them. It is a movie about surfing as well as the emancipation of women. The film has mostly been shot in Cox’s Bazar. Sunerah Binte Kamal plays the lead character, while actor Razz has acted opposite her in the film.
The film is currently at the post production stage and the release date will be announced soon confirmed the producer of the film Mahboob Rahman, chairman of Star Cineplex.
‘We will have a worldwide release of the film and will be sending it to various international film festivals. The film will feature the local dialect of Chattogram, however English subtitles will also be provided,’ Mahboob said at the press conference.
The director of the film Taneem Rahman Angshu was also present at the press conference, along with other cast and crew members.
‘It is a film about women’s emancipation, achieving dreams by overcoming social obstacles hence it is titled ‘Nodorai’,’ said Taneem.
The trailer of the film has been released on Star Cineplex’s official Facebook page. The film will be produced under the ‘Show Motion’ banner.
