Jarra Colley was not labelled a witch, but her mom Bojang Darboe and Dad Musa Colley were labelled a witch and a wizard respectively. They were both captured in their home by men dressed in red with majic charms and taken to the home village of the former president Yaya Jammeh. In that year of 2009, the Gambian president Yaya Jammeh had embarked on a campaign to rid the country of witches. He deployed majic men in red to scout a few regions of the country and capture all suspected witches for treatment. On November 28th 2019, Jarra appeared before the travelling TRRC commission to narrate the ordeal of her parents at the hands of witch hunters 10 years earlier.
