How To Work Out And Understand What Chords Are In Any Key - Music Theory Lesson How To Understand the Chords In A Major or Relative Minor Key - Theory Lesson by Simon Down

The process in this video is how the diatonic chords (chords using only notes in that scale) are created for every major or relative minor key! Obviously this video doesn't cover everything and is just a simplified introductory lesson but it is a fundamental part of understanding music theory and should not be skipped!

The chord types will always be in the order of 'Ma - mi - mi - Ma - Ma - mi - dim' when starting at the root note (C in this video) for major scale chords, this will work from any starting note though and give you the same order of chord qualities eg. major or diminished.

Thanks for watching! :)
