This is our real job behind the scene only ETO Electro-Technical Officer, ETR Electro-Technical Rating and Elevator Technician knows. This video is about the correct procedure of doing risk assessment and safety checked above the car and landing doors of the elevator, we also show how dangerous on the top of elevator and when we do the permit to work or when we sign the permit to work. To do the Risk Assessment we need to open the landing door while elevator is running make sure elevator will stop for safety purposes elevator should stop when you open the landing, then you have to test the emergency stop on the top of elevator and you outside press the button outside the elevator check if the elevator response you call then if not check again on the top of the car release the emergency stop button and test the selector switch put the selector switch from normal to maintenance or inspection mode go outside again and press the button outside the car if the elevator response your or not and make sure elevator will not response for outside call to make sure you are safe inside on the top of the car. After Risk Assessment then when we are sure that safe for entry, we sign PTW or Permit To Work then we give original copy to ECR or Engine Control Room electronic copy to the Bridge and bring a photo copy with you then you can start the task. I did this in Crown Princess during my inspection on Lift G with Tagalog explanation because my partner he is not regular with me I just pick up him because I'm allowed to do the job alone in the Elevator he is regularly work in the Galley to make him aware and safe I have to inform and explain him of what we are doing because my regular partner go home without replacement. Well his replacement arrived on board during my partner disembark but he don't bring his original certificates required us a seafarer.
