France hit by nationwide strike as hundreds of thousands protest pension reforms

Protesters in France have hit the streets, demonstrating against President Emmanuel Macron's pension reforms. Mass protests are expected across the country as a nationwide transport strike enters the 13th day. It has sparked commuter chaos in Paris and other big cities, with the railway, metro, buses and flights paralysed. Workers are protesting against plans for a single pension system, which will replace 42 different schemes.
