Empress of the Seas: Windjammer Cafe Tour (And Buffet Food Offerings)

Empress of the Seas: Windjammer Cafe Tour (And Buffet Food Offerings) Cruises are often viewed as a vacation of gluttony, and the center of the food is the buffet. Onboard the Empress of the Seas that would be the Windjammer Cafe located at the forward end of deck number 10. Featuring a tiered seating area with large glass windows the venue offers unrivaled views forward of the ship. Having a more traditional food layout guests can enter from either the port or starboard side with the buffet lining the central wall and wrapping all the way around the venue from entrance to entrance. On the larger ships guests have a variety of complimentary dining venues to enjoy while the Windjammer serves just breakfast, lunch, and dinner and closes the remainder of the time. On the Empress though this is the primary and only complimentary dining venue outside the Main Dining Room. That means that it's operating schedule has had to adjust. The daily Compass lists hours for each of the main meals along with snack and late night periods, but in reality the venue remains open from the start of breakfast to the end of late night snacks. Rather than ever closing completely the venue simply closes an entrance and shifts from one half of the venue to the other throughout the day giving time to cleanup and prepare the next meal. This leads to a much more diverse selection of offerings than any other ship in the fleet can offer.
