We visited the Soulé Steam Festival again this year and had a great time! Jim McRea the museum founder and President took us on a more behind the scenes tour of the museum and showed us many of the places that aren't normally open during the regular tours. Soulé was founded in 1891 and operated all the way until 2002 when it was purchased and preserved to be turned into a museum. They built several varieties of steam engines and other components generally used in the saw mill industry. They had their own foundry, pattern, and machine shops on site. This is a great place to visit and learn how industry once worked and see how things have evolved to give you the world you're living in now. I'll have a second video from this year's festival highlighting all of the steam engines and machine shop. Visit Soulé's website to learn more about the museum.
