Puerto Rico: An Alternative Christmas Gift Suggestion

Puerto Rico: An Alternative Christmas Gift Suggestion Brethren Disaster Ministries Continues To Assist The Puerto Rico Rebuilding
Alternative Gift Giving Suggestion for 2019

"Brethren Voices"encourages a financial gift this year to the Brethren Disaster Ministries, in the name of that special someone on your list. This program features the work that continues to be provided by Brethren volunteers to the survivors of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. For Brethren Disaster Ministries, those being assisted with home rebuilding are those who "have fallen through the cracks." They are people who do not qualify for assistance from FEMA, the state or federal government. For BDM, one does not have to be a "card carrying Brethren" to receive assistance.

Brethren Disaster Ministries' Rebuild Program engages volunteers to repair and rebuild storm-damaged homes for some of the most vulnerable disaster survivors, thereby easing trauma and promoting recovery. By demonstrating Christ’s love and putting their faith in action as they restore damaged homes, volunteers also restore broken lives.

Andy Murray, known by many Brethren as a pastor, educator, and musician, shares one of his songs, "A Christmas Carol" which is performed with video and photos of BDM work being done in Puerto Rico. (Video and photos provided by David Sollenberger.)
