The 2014 comedy anime from Kyoto Animation seems to go unmentioned in most discussion of the studio's catalogue, but after finally giving the show a watch, I happily discovered there's a lot to love while breaking away from KyoAni's typical style. Here, I explore how Amagi utilizes classic mechanics to construct its comedy, spotlighting the incredible range of director Yasuhiro Takemoto and staff. Enjoy!
