Is A Traveller Allowed To Shorten His Prayer Only on Road by Shaykh Waleed Basyouni

There is a difference of opinion when it comes to this question. The Hanbalies say it is only allowed when someone is travelling on the road or is at the airports or docks. But when the destination is reached you are allowed to shorten prayers but not combine them.

The majority of the scholars say shortening prayer is allowed while travelling and while residing during the travel as well.
