The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) has ordered that a number of ballot papers for Special Electors be destroyed. This, as the EBC says the prescribed procedure during the issuance of ballot papers to Special Electors on Wednesday was not followed with respect to certain electoral districts.
As a result, according to Election Rule 22(7) of the Representation of the People Act, Chapter 2:01, the Government Printer will be required to destroy the defective ballots and provide certification of same.
