Here's how to start the exotic quest for the Xenophage Exotic Machine Gun. To do so, you need to obtain "The Journey" Emergence quest step. Do this by traveling to the statues inside the Red Keep where you can see the Pyramid. Interact with them, then open the chest that spawns. ALL STEPS IN "THE JOURNEY" QUEST TO GET THE XENOPHAGE EXOTIC MACHINE GUN:
1. How to Start the Xenophage Exotic Quest (Obtain "The Journey" Emergence Quest Step)
2. How to Complete the "Emerged from the Dark" Quest Step (The Journey - Emergence)
3. The Journey Pathfinder Quest Step - All Path Finder Fragment Locations & Solutions
4. Complete Eris' "The Deepening Wake" quest. This unlocks the "Pit of Heresy". This one doesn't need a guide, you'll work it out just fine without one. All you have to do is pick up the quest from Eris, defeat the "Nightmare of Phogoth, the Untamed" in the Altars of Sorrow public event in Sorrow's Harbor on the Moon and open the chest he drops.
5. The Journey - Descent - Path Uncovered Location
6. The Journey - Discovery - Path's end located (takes you to the entry to Volmar, the Tempted).
