Friday August 26,2011 will always be remembered as a sad day in Nigeria's history over the car bomb explosion at the United Nations building located at the diplomatic district of Abuja killing 21 persons with 60 others injured. The blast was among the then infamous attacks by the Book Haram sects in the nation's capital.
As expected the effect of the blast on the building was massive, a development that saw the Nigerian government taking over its rehabilitation expenses.
Eight years after, the building is ready for use again.
At a handing over ceremony in Abuja, President Mohammadu Buhari who was represented by the minister of the federal capital Territory, Mohammed Bello reaffirmed Nigeria's resolve to stand firm against any act of Terrorism.
