The Operation, Theatre technologist mainly assists the anaesthetic and Surgeons in preparing and managing the patient for surgery during pre-operative, operative and post-operative periods. He is required to keep all the anaesthesia and surgical equipments as well as drugs ready as and when required by anaesthetic and surgeons. Maintaining anaesthesia records is also the responsibility of the technologists.
The OT equipments like anaesthesia machine, diathermy, endoscopic / laparoscopic (key hole abdominal surgery)/ arthroscopic (key hole joint surgery) equipments are also under direct care of technologists.
