The search for Chance Englebert has gained a lot of steam recently. Chance went missing on Saturday July 6th after spending a day golfing before heading to his grandparents home in Gering Nebraska. It is said that he may have had an argument with his wife Baylee and left for a walk - last seen at 7:30pm. There was a notable storm in the area that evening and some say that Chance may have been drinking a lot that evening - but his Mom says that Chance was not drunk or walking into a large storm when he walked off. Baylee claims that Chance was upset about being layed off from his job earlier, although he was scheduled to start working a new job the following week. She said that he does have a tendency to get walk off and have a beer when he gets angry.
Cell towers show the final calls and text from Chance phone at 9:08 pm but the final network activity came around 11pm last pinging at a nearby truck stop. There were 2 reported sighting of Chance that evening. Video footage shows him walking North on Martha road at 7:51pm and witnesses claim to have seen him by Terry's lake.
Baylee called Chance's Dad that night and let her know he hadn't come home. The next morning she called Chance Englebert's parents again and said she was filing a police report but they didn't need to drive there. They did come and drove around Gering looking for chance.
On Tuesday, the police called Chance's Mom and Baylee to come down to the police office. They had no update or leads. Baylee asked the police about getting a death certificate at this time which has sparked a number of theories online - However, she has refuted those theories directly.
None of Chance's family or friends believe that Chance would have left his newborn baby - they are still searching daily and believe that something bad has happened to Chance.
It's now been nearly 5 months since Chance went missing. At the time it was Summer, and he had left during daylight.... Now it is cold outside, snow is falling and the ground and waters are freezing outside. This has not slowed down the search. In fact, the case is starting to gain a lot of new energy. It is being picked up by well known podcasts and streamers and a dedicated Facebook group has been created where new search efforts and information are being coordinated. Its seems that Chance will not be forgotten - and the truth will come out.
