Qantas Project Sunrise Research Flight from JFK - Arrival at Sydney - 20 October 2019

Qantas Project Sunrise Research Flight from JFK - Arrival at Sydney - 20 October 2019 Qantas is conducting research into what it calls 'Project Sunrise', the capability to fly non-stop from Sydney and Melbourne to London Heathrow and New York JFK. The first of these flights involved the delivery of Qantas' 9th 787 Dreamliner named 'Kookaburra', delivered two years after Qantas' first Dreamliner VH-ZNA 'Great Southern Land'.

Here we see the aircraft complete its 19.25 hour flight direct from New York JFK with 50 passengers and crew onboard.

The next of these research flights will deliver Qantas' 10th Dreamliner direct from London Heathrow some time in November.

On a side note, this is the third Qantas 787 delivery flight I've been out to witness following ZNA 'Great Southern Land' and ZND 'Emily Kame Kngwarreye'.
