Crossing a river is a lot more convenient barefoot.

Crossing a river is a lot more convenient barefoot. If your bare feet get wet during a hike or an adventure they dry off quickly and it's not a problem. If you're wearing shoes and socks and walk through a river or they get wet somehow your shoes, socks and feet stay wet for much longer and I find the feeling of wet shoes and socks against my feet very uncomfortable. Even if you take off your shoes and socks before crossing a river you then have to put them back on after your feet dry and it's less convenient. Being barefoot makes it all much easier.
