As we prepared to depart from our final port of call the cruise ship was delayed for what the captain called a medical emergency. A cruise ship passenger was taken off the ship and put in an ambulance in St. Maarten along with their belongings and then the cruise ship left, leaving them behind on the island to go to the hospital. We are not sure what the medical emergency was and understand that they take these things very seriously and so our thoughts and prayers are with the individual and other affected by this and hope for a happy outcome and safe travels home. Today was our last stop on our Southern Caribbean cruise! Saint Martin is home to the world famous Maho Beach where you can see airplanes land right over your head while you play in the crystal clear turquoise blue Caribbean Sea! We took the kids there to watch the planes take off and land at Maho Beach and they were loving watching the planes come in over their heads! We even withstood the intense jet blast of a bigger airplane on takeoff at Maho Beach that nearly blew us back over the rocks and into the ocean! The blast from the airplane jets was way more intense than we imagined it would be but the once in a lifetime thrill was worth being wind whipped with sand for a few seconds!
We finished off the day near the cruise ship on the beach being pulled around Great Bay on a banana boat by a jet ski! Fun way to finish off our family cruise vacation cruising the ABC Islands of the Southern Caribbean on a cruise ship. But the family vacation travel is not over yet! We still have a few days to play when we arrive in Puerto Rico in the morning! #ThisIsHowWeBingham #TIHWB #ABCYA2019
