Maharashtra Floods: Govt is carefully monitoring the situation, says Chief Secy Mumbai (Maharashtra), Aug 10 (ANI): Ajoy Mehta, Chief Secretary of Maharashtra informed that government is carefully watching and monitoring the flood situation in the state. While speaking to ANI, Maharashtra’s Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta, said, “As flood water recedes, roads in Sangli and Kolhapur will be repaired immediately. Nearly 40,000 trucks are stuck on National Highway-4. Approximately, 1 lakh hectares of agricultural land affected due to flood, compensation to be given.” He added, “Govt is carefully watching and monitoring outbreak of any disease; situation is under control. For water-borne diseases, we've asked for 1 crore Chlorine tablets which are being distributed to the people. As flood waters recede, tanker water to be supplied for drinking.”
