Yuvraj Singh may have quit international cricket but the former India all-rounder is turning heads with his performances in the second season of the ongoing Global T20 Canada in Brampton.
On Saturday, Yuvraj Singh sent the crowd at CAA Centre in Ontario in a tizzy by showing glimpses of his vintage self. The Toronto Royals captain smashed 51 from just 22 balls but his valiant effort went in vain as his team lost their penultimate group-stage match to Brampton Wolves.
George Munsey's 66 helped Brampton Wolves post a mammoth total of 222 for 6 in 20 overs. In reply, Yuvraj-led Toronto Nationals got off to a strong start Brendon McCullum getting a quickfire 36.
Yuvraj Singh, who walked in at No.4, started attack from the word go. The elegant left-hander took his fans down the memory lane as he was hitting sixes at will. Yuvraj hit five sixes and 3 boundaries and went on to score his first half-century of the T20 tournament in Canada.
Yuvraj perished in the 16th over and Toronto Nationals eventually fell short of the target by 11 runs.
