General Chemistry Lecture 278 - Optical Isomerism in Coordination Compounds

General Chemistry Lecture 278 - Optical Isomerism in Coordination Compounds There are certain substances which can rotate plane polarized light and they are known as optically active substances. Optical isomerism in coordination compounds having 4 coordination number is diacussed here. Square planar complexes do not show isomerism because they are having plane of symmetry. Tetrahedral complexes having chiral centre, show optical isomerism. Optical isomerism in complexes having coordination number 6, is discussed here.
