Shooting being handled by homicide detectives in Paradise Hills PARADISE HILLS (San Diego) - July 6, 2019

On Friday, July 5, 2019 at about 10:36 pm, the San Diego Police Department’s Communication
Center received a radio call of a shooting at the 2400 block of Calle Gaviota.
Officers arrived on scene a few minutes later and located an adult man at that location with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Officers performed life saving measures on the victim until relieved by San Diego Fire Department Paramedics. The victim was transported to a local hospital by medics. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the scene to investigate the incident. Although it is very early in the investigation, we have learned the victim went outside and shortly thereafter family members heard gunshots. Family members went outside and discovered the victim down. A witness reported seeing a Hispanic male wearing dark clothing running from the area after the shots were heard.
The victim has been identified, but his identity will not be released pending family notification.
