Protests in Alexandra, Johannesburg triggered the South African Human Rights Commission to launch an investigation into funds supposed to have been used for the Alexandra Renewal Project which started in 2001. Yesterday, Gauteng Human Settlement MEC Lebogang Maile held a media briefing saying, amongst other things, that no single person could be held accountable for the one-point-three billion rand project.
