Machu Picchu Is AT RISK! - New Airport May Damage Ancient Site

Josh Sigurdson reports on the most recent developments surrounding a story that will concern many. The airport being built near Machu Picchu following a vast land grab by the Peruvian government which risks the structural stability of many ancient sites near and within Machu Picchu, especially considering the overwhelming level of tourism the site currently sees.
Machu Piccu is one of the most beautiful spots on the planet with a history that leaves many historians scrambling for answers,
The site appears to have been built by two separate civilizations. Perhaps a lost ancient civilization followed by the Incas many millennia later.
Today, the tourism in Machu Picchu is growing by the day. Unesco claims the level is unsustainable and risks the stability of the site.
The airport will be built in Chinchero, Cusco, a vastly old site itself with a great history. Many farmers' land has been taken from them in order to artificially inflate the economy with tourism that cannot be sustained.
The question is, do people care enough about the most ancient, historically important sites in the world? Or shall these sites simply be used not to find answers to our past, but to squeeze for money in the future?
