Introducing Medulr - your web based MDL community resource

Introducing Medulr - your web based MDL community resource Introducing Medulr, a new web-based library platform providing free access to thousands of professional quality, high performance MDL materials.

MDL, or Material Definition Language developed by Nvidia, gives you the freedom to share accurate physically based materials and lights between a growing list of supporting content creation applications, which includes Vray, Iray for maya, Iray for 3D Studio MAX, Iray for Rhino, Unreal, Solidworks Visualize, Catia, Substance Designer & Painter, Siemens NX, Reallusion, Daz 3d and IC.IDO.

Unlike a conventional shading language that produces material definitions for only individual renderers, MDL materials defines the behaviour of light at a very high level. This allows different renderers to similarly interpret this precise light behaviour and create the same high quality and physically accurate image output, whether the content creation package is based an OpenGL-based application or uses a physically based renderer like Iray.

With Medulr you can explore the thousands of high-quality materials available from the constantly expanding community library and freely download your selection for unlimited use in your 3D projects.

Or, you can use Medulr’s inbuilt graph editing tools to either modify existing library materials or create your own custom materials from scratch.
