TL;DR: There IS such thing as too fast, but there are several important considerations in setting tempo. I've noticed that YouTube comment sections on popular organ works tend to include quite a few "TOO FAST!" comments. But is it really too fast? In fact, how do you figure out the right tempo? Every organ is different, every room is different, every organist is different. Should you just follow the tempo marking? Or is there more to it? Here are my thoughts.
